01. Pick Up
The responsible handling of your IT equipment begins from the moment of pick up. Quantum’s secure logistics include inventory counts, packaging of your assets to protect against damage, clearance-level drivers and GPS-enabled trucks equipped with a numbered tag and seal system to safeguard your equipment in transit. Pick ups nation-wide can be pre-scheduled or requested online, by email or over the phone. We also provide data centre decommissioning services, full office take-outs, and full-service white glove transport.
02. Asset Audit
Upon receipt at our secure processing facility, your assets are entered into our custom built ERP system. A unique ID number is generated for each item, and the serial number, make, model, and asset tag of each item is logged. Logging into Quantum’s online customer portal makes it easy to track your assets in real time and access reports that allow you to reconcile your end-of-life inventory in the event of an internal or external audit.
03. Data Destruction (Data Wipe or Physical Destruction)
Based on your IT disposition policy requirements, you can have your data securely wiped through certified erasure performed to the highest cybersecurity and government standards, or eradicated through the physical destruction of your hard drives or data-bearing equipment. Either way, you’re provided with auditable proof that your data has been permanently destroyed. Quantum’s secure data erasure and hard drive destruction services can also be performed onsite at your place of business.
04. Valuation (Reuse or Recycle)
To maximize the return from your unwanted, data-free equipment, Quantum identifies and separates assets of value – those that can be reused or resold – from generic e-waste. Our wholesale remarketing team bases their assessment of fair market value on a grading system that evaluates your equipment’s appearance, operability and completeness. For items below the technology cut line that are either too old, or too beat up to be reused. We strive for a 100% landfill diversion rate that ensures maximum environmental performance through component harvesting, reuse, and end of life recycling.
05. Refurbish
Assets with resale potential are put through a refurbishment process that includes upgrading your lower graded units to achieve maximum value recovery. Because Quantum often receives large lots of the same types of equipment, we can maintain and draw from a robust part harvesting inventory to repair and restore your non-functioning electronics to good working condition. All refurbished equipment is then run through a rigorous testing process before it’s resold.
06. Remarket
Quantum’s global sales network allows used electronics to be successfully remarketed through multiple channels, including wholesale, e-commerce and direct to consumer. As a profit-share system, you can feel confident that we’ll always find the best channel to generate the maximum return from your materials. You can even use those returns to set up an employee purchase program, or donate to your favourite charity, through Quantum’s online store and charitable gift cards.
07. Delivery
The value recovery Quantum delivers is the direct result of managing your end-of-use IT assets properly from pick up through reuse or recycling. You can choose to immediately collect on funds generated from repurposed equipment or accumulate an account credit to offset future service or logistics fees. Certificates of data destruction and full inventory reports outlining the serial numbers for every asset wiped or destroyed are available through our customer portal at any time.
