A trained lawyer, Gary ventured into the electronics recycling industry by founding Shift Recycling in 2010. In 2019, under Gary’s vision and leadership, Quantum was formed and is now the largest IT Asset Disposition and e-waste recycler in Canada. Gary is passionate about: building a world class team; providing tremendous value to Quantum’s customers; and protecting our planet. When not recycling electronics (which doesn’t happen often), Gary can be found, together with his wife, chasing his 3 young children.
Based in Toronto, Canada, Clayton has been recycling electronics for over 20 years and has seen the industry evolve dramatically over that time, just like the technology itself. He brings a passion for business and the environment to the table, with a particular focus on the intersection where each drive the other. He loves Quantum and is proud to work for an amazing company that builds up its people, protects the environment, and has fun doing it! Clayton works across North America with Producers, PROs and Stewardship Programs to maximize environmental benefits while minimizing the cost of being compliant. When not reusing and recycling WEEE, Clayton spends time with his wife and son at his farm in rural Ontario.
Blending two-parts operational expertise, coupled with passion for recycling and green initiatives, team development, and a tablespoon of project management and process improvement, Mike spearheads Quantum’s Recycling Operations across Canada. With over 16 years’ experience in operational and compliance roles, Mike thrives in the challenge of an everchanging electronics landscape and the pursuit of making Our planet a better place. When not recycling electronics, Mike can be found combining his passion of travel and competing in endurance events. From 5km time trials to 60km Ultra Obstacle Course races, Mike tests the boundaries between pain, pleasure and accomplishment.
Mark has spent the last decade in the e-waste and ITAD industry, growing Revolution Recycling from a local electronics scrap yard into a leading Canadian ITAD firm servicing global enterprises. Mark’s leadership and deep rooted knowledge of all facets of the ITAD business serve him well in his role overseeing the upstream business development and account management functions of Quantum’s ITAD division. Away from work, Mark can be found skating on his backyard rink with his wife and two young sons, or on the golf course with friends
Mark arrived at Quantum after a successful career at Staples Canada where he took on progressive roles culminating in his last role as Omnichannel – VP of Merchandising (Technology Products). Mark is a driven leader that enjoys aggressive growth targets that create the need for developing strong ties with partners. Mark is an active mentor with the Futurepreneur organization. When not working, Mark tries his best to make his wife and teenage son giggle.
Michael brings nearly two decades of finance expertise in telecom and construction, supported by his MBA from York University. He joined the team at Quantum to be part of a group driven to help people and the planet. As a dedicated leader, he prioritizes coaching and talent development within his team. Outside of work, he enjoys quality time with his family and pursues carpentry and DIY projects.
Babak brings over 23+ years of experience in driving operational excellence in ITAD operations. Throughout his career, Babak has found a passion for continuous improvement and the implementation of best practices. These fundamentals apply to every area of the business he has been in or associated with, such as; Operations, process planning, cost reduction initiatives, continuous improvement projects, R&D, sales, Remarketing, logistics and customer service. When not at work, Babak enjoys walking, exercising, watching movies and enjoying quality time with his family.
Naz Heller brings with him nearly three decades of HR experience in the automotive and aerospace sectors. Along with leading Quantum’s HR strategy, Naz and his team focus on recruiting and retaining talent while building programs focused on learning and development that enhance employee relations to align with Quantum’s cultures and values. When he’s not working Naz enjoys time with family and friends, on the golf course, the ski hills or travelling the globe.
Susan joined the Quantum team in November 2021 in the role of Director of Quality, Environmental, Health, Safety and Lifecycle Services bringing over 25 years of experience as a compliance specialist. With proficiency in managing ISO implementation, Susan has a natural affinity for maintaining process driven management systems across multiple sites. As an experienced senior leader with a diverse skill set in the ITAD and commercial operations, Susan brings sought after expertise in hands on design, implementation, and optimization of business processes to the team. With a passion for cultivating a dynamic environment for employees together with driving a culture of continuous improvement, Susan’s dedication to ensuring regulatory requirements are met is coupled with ensuring the highest caliber of quality to Quantum customers. Besides her Director role, Susan enjoys travelling, playing golf, and spending time with her family.
Afshin brings 25 years of experience solving complex technology problems. A strategic thinker, he is passionate about improving systems and processes, while delivering leading-edge solutions. An impeccable leader, he is skilled at driving multiple projects, spearheading initiatives for stakeholders at every level of the organization. A man of few words, he enjoys keeping up with news in the tech industry and spend quality time with family.
Stephanie is in charge of building and executing a sustainability strategy across all company locations and beyond to help the company’s stakeholders: customers, team and the planet. Quantum has received numerous accolades and awards for their ESG leadership. Stephanie is also a respected thought leader and host of the podcast, The Circular Future. She joined Quantum in January 2022 when Quantum acquired the company she founded, REfficient Inc, a Certified B Corp in the reuse and recycling of telecom equipment.
George has been part of the company for 13 years now and has seen the tremendous growth since we started locally way back in 2008. Proud to be part of the Quantum family, he uses his Industrial Engineering degree coupled with leadership and people skills to continue to grow and develop the Recycling and ITAD business with great opportunities to expand the Latin American footprint. He loves to play racquetball and soccer and basically enjoys life. Lives with his wife and two teenage girls.
Michelle entered the electronic recycling industry over 17 years ago. With nearly three decades of customer service expertise, she now leads Quantum’s Customer Success Team, driving customer-focused initiatives. Michelle is committed to continually adding value to Quantum’s Customer journey. Outside of work, you’ll find her enjoying time outdoors with her son, attending live music events, or calculating the odds at a poker table with friends.
Bruce Hartley is Vice-President of Business Development for Eastern Canada. Now in his 25th year servicing the ITAD Recycling business sector, a journey that started when he co-founded his company of two that grew to over 110 employees with a national presence. Proud to be part of the Quantum family, he puts his Master of Science in environmental studies and business development savvy to good use on a daily basis as well as plays an active role on multiple advisory board committees.
