Dans le m\u00eame temps, les anciens mod\u00e8les deviennent souvent inutilisables en raison d&rsquo;un manque de support ou de compatibilit\u00e9 avec les nouveaux d\u00e9veloppements, tels que les logiciels.<\/p>\n<p>Gr\u00e2ce \u00e0 des initiatives marketing strat\u00e9giques, les consommateurs sont amen\u00e9s \u00e0 croire qu&rsquo;ils ont besoin des produits les plus r\u00e9cents, m\u00eame si les am\u00e9liorations apport\u00e9es aux mod\u00e8les mis \u00e0 jour sont souvent superflues. Par exemple, un appareil qui ne prend plus en charge les nouveaux syst\u00e8mes d&rsquo;exploitation et qui devient donc obsol\u00e8te.<\/li>\n<li>Obsolescence relative : elle survient lorsqu&rsquo;un produit devient de plus en plus di:icile ou co\u00fbteux \u00e0 r\u00e9parer et que la solution la plus simple et la plus abordable consiste \u00e0 le remplacer. Par exemple, les smartphones et les ordinateurs portables sont souvent con\u00e7us avec des batteries qui ne peuvent \u00eatre retir\u00e9es ou remplac\u00e9es, mais qui se d\u00e9gradent avec le temps et nuisent aux performances de l&rsquo;appareil.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Dans les deux cas, le besoin de remplacer un produit est souvent encourag\u00e9 par de nouvelles fonctionnalit\u00e9s commercialis\u00e9es de mani\u00e8re \u00e0 s\u00e9duire les consommateurs, m\u00eame lorsque ces ajouts ou am\u00e9liorations n&rsquo;am\u00e9liorent pas significativement les performances du produit.<\/p>\n<h2>Le lien entre l&rsquo;obsolescence programm\u00e9e et les d\u00e9chets \u00e9lectroniques<\/h2>\n<p>Si les d\u00e9chets excessifs g\u00e9n\u00e9r\u00e9s par l&rsquo;obsolescence programm\u00e9e sont n\u00e9fastes pour notre environnement, la situation est encore pire lorsque ces d\u00e9chets contiennent des produits chimiques nocifs. Les d\u00e9chets \u00e9lectroniques pr\u00e9sentent de graves risques pour l&rsquo;environnement : lorsque les appareils \u00e9lectroniques ne sont pas recycl\u00e9s correctement, les appareils utilisables et hors d&rsquo;usage finissent dans des d\u00e9charges, o\u00f9 leurs mat\u00e9riaux toxiques contribuent \u00e0 la pollution de l&rsquo;eau et de l&rsquo;air.<\/p>\n<p>De plus, la production de d\u00e9chets \u00e9lectroniques g\u00e9n\u00e8re des quantit\u00e9s importantes de gaz \u00e0 e:et de serre, tels que le dioxyde de carbone. Une \u00e9tude a montr\u00e9 que les \u00e9missions de gaz \u00e0 e:et de serre li\u00e9es aux d\u00e9chets \u00e9lectroniques et \u00e0 la production d&rsquo;appareils \u00e9lectroniques ont augment\u00e9 de 53 % entre 2014 et 2020, avec 580 tonnes m\u00e9triques produites rien qu&rsquo;en 2020. Sans intervention, 852 millions de tonnes m\u00e9triques de compos\u00e9s de dioxyde de carbone seront g\u00e9n\u00e9r\u00e9es par les seuls d\u00e9chets \u00e9lectroniques d&rsquo;ici 2030.<\/p>\n<h2>\u00c9liminer l&rsquo;obsolescence programm\u00e9e pour aider \u00e0 r\u00e9soudre la crise des d\u00e9chets \u00e9lectroniques<\/h2>\n<p>Pour lutter e:icacement contre la crise des d\u00e9chets \u00e9lectroniques, les consommateurs et les fabricants doivent agir. Les consommateurs peuvent contribuer en achetant des produits de haute qualit\u00e9 con\u00e7us pour durer et en e:ectuant un entretien et des r\u00e9parations r\u00e9guliers afin de prolonger la dur\u00e9e de vie de leurs appareils. Ils peuvent \u00e9galement choisir de soutenir des marques durables qui proposent des produits r\u00e9parables ou \u00e9volutifs. Enfin, lorsque les appareils \u00e9lectroniques arrivent en fin de vie, les consommateurs doivent les \u00e9liminer de mani\u00e8re appropri\u00e9e par le biais de programmes certifi\u00e9s de gestion des d\u00e9chets \u00e9lectroniques.<\/p>\n<p>Pour les fabricants, le d\u00e9veloppement de produits dot\u00e9s de composants durables et l&rsquo;o:re de services de r\u00e9paration ou de pi\u00e8ces d\u00e9tach\u00e9es seront des \u00e9tapes importantes pour mettre en \u0153uvre le changement. De m\u00eame, ils devraient \u00e9galement s&rsquo;e:orcer de concevoir des produits faciles \u00e0 d\u00e9monter afin de permettre un recyclage appropri\u00e9. Afin de faciliter le traitement en fin de vie, les fabricants peuvent \u00e9galement mettre en place des programmes de reprise dans le cadre desquels les consommateurs peuvent retourner leurs anciens appareils afin qu&rsquo;ils soient recycl\u00e9s ou remis \u00e0 neuf de mani\u00e8re appropri\u00e9e.
