Led by the <a href=\"https:\/\/rco.on.ca\/\">Recycling Council of Ontario<\/a>, the initiative began in the 1980s and was formalized in 2001. Today, environmental organizations from all ten provinces unite to commend the efforts and achievements of citizens and businesses, while inspiring them to make environmentally conscious choices for the future. By encouraging a mindset shift towards conservation, they aim to minimize waste across every aspect of daily life and business operations.<\/p>\n<p>This year, WRW will be held from October 19 through the 25. Each day of the week focuses on a specific type of waste, with Wednesday, October 21 emphasizing <a href=\"https:\/\/quantumlifecycle.com\/en_CA\/blog\/the-environmental-impact-of-cloud-computing-data-storage\/\">e-waste<\/a>. According to WRW Canada\u2019s official website, more than 44 million tons of e-waste was accumulated globally in 2019, only 20% of which was recycled. Not only does this ensure fewer electronics end up in landfills, but it also supports the \u201ccircular economy,\u201d a key theme of WRW.
